Did the Bailout of GM and Chrysler Save Ford from Collapse?

Senator Harry Reid has made the assertion that if the Government hadn’t bailed out GM and Chrysler, Ford would have gone under also. The rationale is that if GM and Chrysler no longer existed, the supplier base which provides about 90% of the parts that make up a car would have collapsed also.
