  • Steampunk Con Mixes In More Maker Fun

    California has once again been blessed with another steampunk convention, this time to be held in Emeryville, CA on March 12-14 as the “Nova Albion Steampunk Exhibition.” This year’s event promises to mix in much more of the DIY/maker flavor for a greater hands-on feel.   • Mother Nature Wins Big as Huge Waves Douse 40 Mavericks Fans

    The Super Bowl of Surfing lived up to its legend today, and then some. The waves were so big they caused collateral damage on the sidelines. Long before Chris Bertish won the $50K first prize at the seventh Mavericks Surf Contest, a series of waves crashed into some of the thousands of fans who had flocked to see the contest.
